Derick Christian, MD

Derick J. Christian, MD is a board-certified general surgeon, specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. As the Director of Liver and Pancreas Surgery and Surgical Oncology at St. Joseph’s Health, he specializes in treating patients with complex conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, and biliary system. He is a leader in minimally invasive and robotic approaches to pancreas, liver, and gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Christian is one of the few hepatobiliary surgeons in the state that is fellowship trained in both hepatobiliary surgery and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Christian earned his medical degree from Saba School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut. He then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Penn Medicine, and a fellowship in Liver and Pancreatic Surgery at Methodist Medical Center.
