Dr. Franz Yanagawa, MD is a double board‑certified general surgeon and trauma specialist at St. Joseph’s Health. With fellowship training in acute care surgery and surgical critical care, he provides comprehensive surgical care for adults requiring general, trauma, and emergency operative interventions. Dr. Yanagawa is committed to delivering patient‑centered treatment through every stage of care, from urgent evaluation and surgery to recovery and long‑term follow‑up.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at WellSpan York Hospital. He then completed fellowships in surgical critical care at St. Luke’s and in acute care surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He holds board certification in both general surgery and surgical critical care from the American Board of Surgery.
