Joseph Duffy, MD

Joseph Duffy, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician and Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of St. Joseph’s Health, where he oversees clinical operations, patient safety, and quality across the system.

With nearly four decades of experience, Dr. Duffy is deeply committed to building long-term relationships with his patients and providing comprehensive, whole-person care tailored to everyone’s needs. Patients appreciate his thoughtful approach, effective communication, and steady presence in managing both routine and complex health challenges.

Dr. Duffy earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency/chief residency in family medicine at UMDNJ-St. Mary Hospital (now Hoboken University Medical Center). He received board certification in both family medicine and hospice & palliative care from the American Board of Family Medicine/American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Duffy’s background also includes service as a US Air Force Reserve flight surgeon and active roles in academic medicine.
