Sameer Azhak, MD

Dr. Sameer Azhak is a board-certified cardiologist who has cared for patients in northern New Jersey since 2008. His clinical interests include preventive cardiology, hypertension, complex lipid disorders, metabolic health, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac amyloidosis, and heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation. He combines evidence-based cardiovascular care with practical strategies to help patients understand and reduce their individual risk.

Dr. Azhak takes a prevention-focused, whole-person approach to heart health, incorporating nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and other lifestyle factors when appropriate. He is also a physician-author who writes patient-focused educational articles and books about cardiovascular prevention, blood pressure, cholesterol, nutrition, and long-term heart health.

Dr. Azhak earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, followed by a cardiology fellowship through the Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education. He also completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Azhak is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in nuclear cardiology.
